Bale Banjar Restaurant
Our open-air Bale Banjar Restaurant exudes a relaxing ambience, and offers superb European, Indonesian and Oriental cuisine, in addition to special barbeques and buffet dinners to accompany the cultural shows that are staged regularly upon the adjacent open stage. The menu includes a wide range of salads, soups, vegetarian dishes, and sandwiches. Start with a ‘Florida Cocktail’ and progress to a ‘Mini Rijstaffel’ for two, or a ‘Sambal Goreng’ with calamari and prawns. Also on offer are delectable chicken dishes such as the ‘Chicken Palace Sze Chuan’, ‘Chicken in Lemongrass’, and ‘Chicken in Boursin Cheese Sauce’. Or enjoy fresh fish, mixed seafood platter, imported steaks, and wicked desserts such as ‘Tulip Surprise’ and ‘Strawberry Bavaroise Cake’, to the accompaniment of live music and song by local performers. The restaurant is open from 07.00 am until 11.00 pm and the bar is open from 11.00 am until 02.00 am. Ocean Terrace is an alfresco dining area that serves the same menu; it is open for dinner during the dry season; and when Ocean Terrace is open, Bale Banjar is closed.

Lais Restaurant
Lais Restaurant will take you on a journey through the Indonesian archipelago with an exciting menu of local delicacies and tempting desserts, highlighting the delights of our traditional cuisine. Although Indonesian food is spicy, there is still plenty of choice to suit everyone’s palate. Start your dinner with a Soto Ayam Madura, a chicken and vegetable soup, or Gerang Asem, a Balinese fish soup. After this, you might wish to try the Sate Languan Amlapura – small kebabs of fish blended with grated coconut, barbequed on hot coals and served on a bamboo stick with steamed rice, mixed vegetable, pickle and shrimp crackers. Finish up with Kue Basah Pasar Pagi, a combination of the most popular traditional Balinese sweets– an array of surprises in pastel colours – including ‘Dadar Gulung’, which are little crepe parcels filled with palm sugar and dipped in grated coconut. The ‘Kelepon Tanah Lot’ is a boiled glutinous rice dough stuffed with palm sugar, and not to be missed is the ‘Bubur Ketan Hitam Segar Manis’ a chilled black rice pudding, flavoured with pandan leaves and served with vanilla ice cream and thick coconut milk sauce. The restaurant has 40 seats and is open from 06:00 pm until 11:00 pm. Located close to the pool overlooking the magnificent white sandy beach of Legian, it is also the perfect place to experience a romantic candlelight dinner.

Ole Ocean View Patio
Ole Ocean View Patio is our newest food & beverage outlet; it opened in October 2005, and is situated directly beside the pool offering spectacular views of the beach and the rolling surf of the Indian Ocean. Thirty-six luxurious, deeply cushioned sunloungers shaded by large umbrellas, are combined with waiter service and a fine collection of upbeat house, R&B and lounge club music, to create a stylish and sumptuous alfresco hangout. This is a great place to lie back, chill out and enjoy a freshly squeezed fruit juice, a superb cappuccino, a welcome snack, or an ice cold beer, while sunbathing, reading a book, or gazing at the surfers riding the waves. Open from 01.00 pm until 12 midnight, the totally tropical Ole Ocean View patio is also the spot where folks like to gather in the late afternoon with an exotic island cocktail, to watch the general hubbub of activity on the beach, while being spellbound by yet another of those legendary Balinese sunsets.

Gino's Pasta & Pizza Corner
Savour the mouthwatering Mediterranean flavours of Gino's pasta & pizza corner. This alfresco daytime restaurant is open from 11.00 a.m. to 04.00 p.m. presenting diners with a wonderful view of the beach and the chance to enjoy some of the best Italian food in town. Check out the generous portions of garden fresh salads, appetizing soups, innovative pasta dishes, and authentic thin crust pizzas with a wide choice of delicious toppings capped with oodles of mozzarella cheese.

Cultural Shows
The Cultural Performances offer an opportunity to experience the spirit of Bali and learn a little bit more about the island’s rich culture and traditional dances, accompanied by the Gamelan Orchestra dressed in dazzling silk sarongs. The show takes place on Saturdays and begins at 08.00 pm on a stage flanked by brightly coloured temple parasols, and bamboo poles festooned with natural decorations, overhanging a traditional Balinese gateway.

The Gamelan Orchestra creates a mystical ambience as it provides the accompaniment to the story of the Ramayana, a Hindu epic. The characters in magnificent costumes of gold, greens, yellows and reds, masks, and startling make-up, enact the battle between Rama and the evil king Rawana for the prize of the beautiful princess. The performance is a musical blending of classical dance movements and the hilarious comedy of monkeys and clowns. Look out for the wise Garuda and the funny white monkey. The Ramayana performance is alternated with the famous Legong Dance, the make-up and costumes are stunning, and you will be close enough to the stage to witness the striking movement of the dancers’ apparently double-jointed limbs, and expressive, flickering eyes.

Children love these shows and will hang on to the stage so that they can get a good view. Afterwards those who dare will be invited to try a little bit of Balinese dancing or pose for photographs with the cast.
